Zofran can be used for preventing nausea and vomiting associated with cancer chemotherapy or surgery. Zofran can be a serotonin 5-HT3 receptor blocker. It works by blocking a chemical regarded as a factor in nausea and vomiting in common situations (eg, chemotherapy).
