Aricept is employed for treating dementia (eg, impairment of memory, judgment, and abstract thinking; modifications in personality) in patients with Alzheimer disease. Aricept is often a cholinesterase inhibitor. It works by improving the level of a particular substance (acetylcholine) inside brain, which may help in reducing the symptoms of dementia in patients with Alzheimer disease.
