INDICATIONS
Depakote can be used to help remedy various types of seizure disorders. It is sometimes used together with other seizure medications. It is also used to help remedy the manic phase of bipolar disorders (manic-depressive illness), and also to prevent migraines. Depakote affects chemicals within the body which may be involved in causing seizures.
INSTRUCTIONS
Use Depakote as directed from your doctor.

STORAGE
Store Depakote between 68 and 77 degrees F (20 and 25 degrees C). Store from heat, moisture, and light. Do not store within the bathroom. Keep Depakote out from the reach of children and from pets.

All medicines may cause unwanted side effects, but some people have no, or minor, unwanted side effects.
Check with your doctor if these most frequent negative effects persist or become bothersome:
Change in appetite; constipation; diarrhea; dizziness; drowsiness; baldness; headache; indigestion; nausea; stomach cramps or pain; trouble sleeping; vomiting; weakness; weight changes.
Seek medical assistance right away if these severe negative effects occur:
Severe allergy symptoms (rash; hives; itching; breathlessness; tightness in the chest; swelling from the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); abnormal thinking; alteration of period; alterations in behavior; chest pain; confusion; dark, tarry, or bloody stools; dark urine; difficulty speaking; difficulty urinating or any other urination problems; extreme tiredness; fast or irregular heartbeat; hallucinations; hearing problems; involuntary movements with the arms or legs; involuntary movements or chewing movements of the face, jaw, mouth, or tongue; joint; insufficient energy; decrease of appetite; lack of coordination; decrease of seizure control; loss of memory; new or worsening mental or mood changes (eg, aggressiveness, agitation, anxiety, depression, exaggerated a sense well-being, hostility, impulsiveness, inability to sit still, irritability, panic and anxiety attacks, restlessness); nosebleed; pounding inside chest; red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin; severe or persistent nausea, vomiting, or stomach pain; shortness of breath; suicidal thoughts or actions; swelling with the arms or legs; signs of infection (eg, fever, chills, sore throat); tremor; unusual bleeding or bruising; unusual weakness; vision changes or blurred vision; yellowing of the skin or eyes.
